Maritime Law

Since 2015 maritime law has been one of the firm's core practice areas. Our specialists handle all aspects of maritime law — from cargo loss and salvage to ship collisions and shipping litigation.

ACTIO advises and represents parties in disputes over charter parties, bills of lading, laytime, demurrage and ship detention, international road and rail carriage contracts, marine and transport insurance, and loss or damage in transit.

While we primarily act for cargo interests, we have also built substantial experience representing shipowners. We are well versed in freight forwarding law and the legal challenges faced by forwarding companies. Marine insurance is a separate, fast-growing area of our practice — we represent P&I clubs and insurers in a number of high-profile cases.

We have an excellent reputation and extensive experience advising on a wide range of issues in transport, maritime navigation and logistics.
